Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Black pepper, freshly ground
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon, or to your preference
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Garlic cloves, minced
- 4
- Fresh green beans, ends trimmed
- 1 pound
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring the water to a robust boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add the trimmed green beans. Let them cook for about 3-4 minutes until they become vibrant in color and are crisp-tender. Be careful not to overcook them as they will continue cooking later in the pan.
- While the green beans are boiling, heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic into the skillet. Let it cook for about 1-2 minutes until it releases its fragrance. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can turn bitter.
- Using a slotted spoon, carefully transfer the green beans from the pot to the skillet, draining the water well.
- Season the beans with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the beans are well coated with the garlic oil and heated thoroughly.
- Serve these aromatic and flavorful Garlic Infused Green Beans hot as a side dish. They pair beautifully with grilled meats or a flavorful fish dish.
