Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Cooked rice
- 4 cups
- Sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon, for garnish
- Green onions
- 3, sliced
- Broccoli florets
- 2 cups
- Red bell pepper
- 1, sliced
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon
- Chicken breast
- 1 lb, cut into bite-sized pieces
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and hoisin sauce. Stir until well blended.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring each piece is coated with the sauce. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes. The longer it marinates, the more flavorful the chicken will be.
- Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant, but ensure they don't burn.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and stir-fry until it turns golden brown and crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and sliced green onions. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour the remaining sauce over. Stir well to ensure the chicken and vegetables are well-coated.
- Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken and vegetables.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a touch of nuttiness and crunch.
- Serve the General Tso's Chicken Stir Fry over cooked rice. Enjoy this delicious stir fry with a side of cucumber salad or steamed dumplings for a truly Asian-inspired meal.
