Instructions
- Start by making the simple syrup. Combine equal parts of sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Allow to cool before using.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of gin, 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice, and 3/4 ounce of the cooled simple syrup.
- Add the egg white to the shaker. This will give your cocktail a beautiful frothy top.
- Fill the shaker with ice and then shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. This not only chills the drink, but also helps to emulsify the egg white.
- Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass filled with ice. This removes any unwanted ice shards and creates a smoother drinking experience.
- For the final touch, twist a thin strip of lemon peel over the glass to release its essential oils, then drop it in as a garnish.
- Serve your Classic Gin Sour immediately, and savor every sip.
