Ingredients

Original recipe serves 2

Water
2 cups
Arabica coffee beans
1/2 cup, coarsely ground
Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Cardamom
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
1 cup
Cocoa powder
1 tablespoon
Honey
1-2 tablespoons, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water, cinnamon, and cardamom. Bring to a rolling boil.
  2. While the water is boiling, place the coarsely ground Arabica coffee beans in a French press or a coffee maker.
  3. Once the water mixture is boiling, carefully pour it over the coffee grounds and let steep for 4 minutes. This step allows the coffee to absorb the spice flavors.
  4. In a separate saucepan, gently heat the milk until it is hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally to prevent scalding.
  5. After 4 minutes, press down the plunger on the French press or strain the coffee into a separate container to remove the grounds.
  6. In a large mug, combine the brewed coffee with the cocoa powder and honey. Stir until the cocoa powder is fully dissolved and the mixture is well blended.
  7. Pour the hot milk into the mug and stir gently to incorporate all the flavors.
  8. Serve your Giza Plateau Coffee hot, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or a cinnamon stick for an extra touch.

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, consider using whole milk or a milk alternative like almond or oat milk.
  • 💡 Adjust the amount of honey to suit your sweetness preference, or try using maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
  • 💡 If you enjoy a stronger coffee taste, increase the amount of coffee beans used.
