
Gnocchi Alla Siciliana
This is a traditional Italian dish, featuring gnocchi in a rich tomato and cheese sauce, baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Basil (a handful, chopped)
- Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
- Mozzarella cheese (1 cup, shredded)
- Tomato sauce (2 cups)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Gnocchi (500 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add the tomato sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.
- Transfer the gnocchi and sauce to a baking dish. Top with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with the chopped basil before serving.
