Ingredients
- Gnocchi
- 1 pound (450g), store-bought or homemade
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Garlic
- 3 cloves, minced
- Tomato sauce
- 2 cups (480ml), homemade or store-bought
- Salt

- Black pepper

- Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup (100g), shredded
- Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g), grated
- Fresh basil
- 1/4 cup, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, usually boiling them for 2-3 minutes until they float to the surface. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, adding salt and pepper to taste. Stir well and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet, gently stirring to coat them evenly in the rich tomato sauce.
- Transfer the gnocchi and sauce mixture to a baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with the chopped fresh basil before serving.
