Ingredients

Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon, or to taste
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup, freshly grated
Fresh basil leaves
a handful, torn
Mozzarella cheese
1 cup, shredded
Tomato sauce
2 cups
Potato Gnocchi
1 lb (500 g)

Instructions

  1. Follow the instructions on the package to cook the potato gnocchi. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet. Toss it gently until it's evenly coated in the flavorful sauce.
  6. Transfer the saucy gnocchi to a baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  7. Top the gnocchi with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden, bubbly, and slightly crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately garnish with torn fresh basil leaves and a good dusting of freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  10. Serve it hot, straight from the oven, for a true Italian feast. Buon appetito!

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra touch of gourmet, try adding a few leaves of fresh oregano along with the basil.
  • 💡 You may also add some crushed garlic to the tomato sauce for an extra layer of flavor.
