Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina

Ingredients
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
- Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup, freshly grated
- Fresh basil leaves
- a handful, torn
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup, shredded
- Tomato sauce
- 2 cups
- Potato Gnocchi
- 1 lb (500 g)
Instructions
- Follow the instructions on the package to cook the potato gnocchi. Drain well and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
- Pour in the tomato sauce. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet. Toss it gently until it's evenly coated in the flavorful sauce.
- Transfer the saucy gnocchi to a baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
- Top the gnocchi with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden, bubbly, and slightly crispy.
- Remove from the oven and immediately garnish with torn fresh basil leaves and a good dusting of freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
