Ingredients

Original recipe serves 2

Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Dijon Mustard
2 tablespoons
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
Tomato
1, sliced
Romaine Lettuce
4 leaves
Gouda cheese
4 slices
Wholegrain Bread
4 slices

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard to make the spread.
  2. Spread the homemade mustard-mayo evenly on one side of each slice of wholegrain bread.
  3. On two of the slices, place a slice of Gouda cheese.
  4. Layer the lettuce and tomato slices on top of the Gouda cheese. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread, with the spread side facing down.
  6. Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the sandwiches and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, approximately 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Take off the heat, slice each sandwich in half, and serve immediately.
