Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the hot dog buns on a baking sheet and generously sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese on top of each bun.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the buns are baking, grill the all-beef frankfurters on a grill or grill pan until they are lightly charred and heated through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the cheese is melted and the franks are grilled, place each frankfurter inside the cheesy buns.
