
Greek Gyro Wrap Sandwich
This Greek gyro wrap sandwich is filled with tender marinated meat, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Lettuce (4 leaves)
- Red onion (1, thinly sliced)
- Cucumber (1, sliced)
- Tomato (1, sliced)
- Pita bread (4 pieces)
- Lamb or chicken (1 pound, thinly sliced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
- Greek yogurt (1 cup)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make the tzatziki sauce.
- In a separate bowl, marinate the sliced lamb or chicken with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated meat until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Warm the pita bread in a toaster or on the grill for a few seconds on each side.
- Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita bread.
- Layer the cooked meat, sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and lettuce on top of the tzatziki sauce.
- Fold the pita bread in half and secure with a toothpick if needed.
