Ingredients
- Fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons
- Greek yogurt
- 1 cup
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Egg
- 1, beaten
- Fresh oregano
- 1/4 cup, chopped
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Onion
- 1 small, finely chopped
- Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup
- Ground beef
- 1 pound
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped oregano, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the meatballs to the skillet. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned on all sides and cooked through.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped parsley to create a refreshing sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the meatballs hot, accompanied by the yogurt sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy with warm pita bread or over a bed of rice.
Tips
- For added flavor, you can include feta cheese in the meatball mixture.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
- These meatballs can also be baked in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes for a healthier option.
