Greek Souvlaki

Greek Souvlaki is a traditional Greek dish made with marinated meat, typically pork, grilled on skewers and served with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and a Greek salad.

Ingredients

  • Greek salad (1 cup)
  • Tzatziki sauce (1 cup)
  • Pita bread (4 pieces)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Oregano (1 tablespoon)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
  • Olive oil (1/4 cup)
  • Pork shoulder (1 pound, cut into 1 inch cubes)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the pork cubes to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the pork cubes onto skewers.
  5. Grill the souvlaki for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. Serve the souvlaki on pita bread with tzatziki sauce and a side of Greek salad.
