Servings: 8

Ingredients

Green beans
1.5 pounds, trimmed
Cream of mushroom soup
2 cans (10.5 ounces each)
Milk
1 cup
Fried onions
2 cups, divided
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Onion powder
1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and cook for 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Add the cooked green beans to the mushroom sauce mixture, gently tossing to coat the beans evenly.
  5. Transfer the green bean mixture to a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of fried onions over the top of the casserole for that signature crunch.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the onions are golden and crispy on top.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with the remaining fried onions just before serving for extra crunch.
