Ingredients
- Green beans
- 1.5 pounds, trimmed
- Cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans (10.5 ounces each)
- Milk
- 1 cup
- Fried onions
- 2 cups, divided
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and cook for 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add the cooked green beans to the mushroom sauce mixture, gently tossing to coat the beans evenly.
- Transfer the green bean mixture to a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of fried onions over the top of the casserole for that signature crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the onions are golden and crispy on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with the remaining fried onions just before serving for extra crunch.
