- Cornmeal

- Milk

- Unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons, melted (plus extra for greasing)

Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, beaten egg, and melted butter. Stir until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with additional melted butter.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle for each cornbread. Cook until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes on each side.
- While the cornbread is cooking, prepare the honey butter by beating the softened butter and honey together in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
