Ingredients
- Unsalted butter (1/2 cup, softened)
- Honey (1/4 cup)
- Butter (1/4 cup, melted)
- Egg (1, beaten)
- Milk (1 cup)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Baking powder (1 tablespoon)
- Sugar (1/4 cup)
- All (purpose flour - 1 cup)
- Cornmeal (1 cup)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter. Add this to the cornmeal mixture and stir until just combined.
- Heat a griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle for each cornbread. Cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side.
- To make the honey butter, beat the softened butter and honey together until smooth.
- Serve the griddled cornbread warm with the honey butter.
