- Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup
- Red onion slices
- 1/2 cup
- Tomato slices
- 1 large
- Lettuce leaves
- 4 leaves (romaine or iceberg)
- Hamburger buns
- 2
- Pineapple slices
- 2 (fresh or canned)
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and half of the barbecue sauce (1/4 cup) for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
- Grill the marinated chicken breasts for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- During the last few minutes of grilling, place the pineapple slices on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are lightly charred and caramelized.
- Remove the chicken and pineapple from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes to retain their juices.
- In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the remaining barbecue sauce (1/4 cup) to create a flavorful spread.
- Spread the mayonnaise-barbecue mixture on the cut sides of the hamburger buns.
