Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 450°F).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, chopped thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to create the glaze.
- Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag and pour half of the glaze over the chicken, ensuring it's well coated. Reserve the other half for basting during grilling.
- Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
- Once marinated, remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the used marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved glaze during the last few minutes of grilling, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips
- For a smoky flavor, consider adding some wood chips to the grill while cooking.
- Pair this dish with grilled seasonal vegetables, such as zucchini and bell peppers, or a fresh garden salad.
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the glaze.
