Servings: 2
Ingredients
- Elk steaks
- 2 (about 1 pound each)
- Olive oil
- 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste
- Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
- Place the elk steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring that all sides are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate the marinated steaks for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- When ready to grill, preheat your grill to high heat.
- Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the marinade.
- Place the elk steaks on the hot grill and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
- Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables or a fresh garden salad.
