Grilled Peaches with Honey Cinnamon Drizzle
Indulge in the sweet and smoky delight of grilled peaches, a perfect summer dessert that combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with a luscious honey cinnamon drizzle. As the peaches caramelize on the grill, they develop a warm, inviting flavor that pairs beautifully with creamy vanilla ice cream. This dish not only celebrates the bounty of summer fruit but also pays homage to the tradition of grilling fruit, which dates back to ancient cultures that embraced the art of cooking over an open flame.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Peaches
- 4, halved and pitted
- Honey
- 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla ice cream
- 4 scoops
- Fresh mint leaves
- for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat, ensuring it's clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking.
- Cut the peaches in half and carefully remove the pits. If desired, you can score the cut side of the peaches lightly to help the honey cinnamon mixture soak in.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and cinnamon until well combined, creating a sweet and aromatic drizzle.
- Generously brush the cut side of each peach half with the honey and cinnamon mixture, allowing the flavors to seep into the fruit.
- Place the peaches cut side down on the preheated grill and cook for about 3 minutes, or until beautiful grill marks appear.
- Carefully flip the peaches over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the peaches are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Remove the peaches from the grill and let them cool slightly before serving.
- To serve, place a grilled peach half on each plate, add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, and drizzle any remaining honey cinnamon mixture over the top. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
