Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Fresh basil
- 1/2 cup, chopped
- Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.)
- 1-2 cups
- Mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups, shredded
- Pizza sauce
- 1 cup
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Pizza dough
- 1 pound, homemade or store-bought
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
- If making homemade pizza dough, prepare it ahead of time and allow it to rise according to your recipe's instructions.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a thin round crust, about 10-12 inches in diameter.
- Brush one side of each crust generously with olive oil to create a crispy texture when grilled.
- Place the oiled side of the crusts directly on the preheated grill grates. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the crusts are lightly charred and crispy.
- Carefully flip the crusts over using tongs. Quickly spread about 1/4 cup of pizza sauce on the cooked side of each crust.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your desired toppings.
- Close the grill lid and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the grilled pizzas from the grill and sprinkle with freshly chopped basil for an aromatic finish.
- Slice and serve hot, enjoying the harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
