Grilled Swordfish with Lemon Butter
Indulge in the succulent flavors of grilled swordfish, perfectly complemented by a zesty lemon butter sauce. This dish not only showcases the tender, flaky texture of fresh swordfish steaks but also brings a burst of brightness from the citrus and richness from the butter. Historically cherished by coastal communities, swordfish has been a staple in Mediterranean cuisine, often grilled over open flames to enhance its natural flavors. This recipe is simple enough for a weeknight dinner yet impressive enough for special occasions, inviting you to savor each bite.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Swordfish steaks
- 4 (about 6 oz each)
- Butter
- 1/4 cup, melted
- Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
- Garlic
- 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon wedges
- for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to create the lemon butter sauce.
- Brush the swordfish steaks generously with the lemon butter mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly.
- Place the swordfish steaks on the preheated grill. Cook for about 6 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and easily flakes with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Once cooked, remove the swordfish steaks from the grill and let them rest for 3-5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Before serving, sprinkle the grilled swordfish with chopped fresh parsley for color and flavor.
- Serve hot with additional lemon wedges on the side for a fresh squeeze of citrus.
