Servings: 4

Ingredients

Sticky rice
1 cup
Coconut milk
1 can (13.5 oz)
Brown sugar
1/2 cup
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Water
2 cups (for soaking)

Instructions

  1. Soak the sticky rice in 2 cups of water for at least 1 hour to soften it.
  2. After soaking, drain the sticky rice and transfer it to a medium-sized pot.
  3. Add the coconut milk, brown sugar, and salt to the pot with the sticky rice.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring gently to combine all ingredients.
  5. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Let it simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking on the bottom.
  6. When the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the coconut milk, remove the pot from the heat.
  7. Serve warm, either on its own or with a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes on top for added texture.
