Ingredients

Original recipe serves 8

Apricot preserves
1 cup
Habanero pepper, finely chopped
1 (adjust based on heat preference)
Apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup
Honey
1/4 cup
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the apricot preserves, finely chopped habanero pepper, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer.
  3. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and allow the glaze to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help meld the flavors and concentrate the glaze.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the glaze cool for at least 10 minutes before using. The glaze will thicken as it cools.
  5. For grilling, brush the glaze onto your choice of grilled meats or roasted vegetables during the last few minutes of cooking to create a beautiful, sticky finish.
  6. Serve any extra glaze on the side for dipping or drizzling over your dish.

Tips

  • 💡 For a milder version, remove the seeds from the habanero pepper before chopping.
  • 💡 This glaze pairs wonderfully with chicken, pork, shrimp, or roasted sweet potatoes.
  • 💡 You can store any leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
