Ham and Swiss Burrito

Indulge in this mouth-watering Ham and Swiss Burrito, a fusion of Mexican and Swiss cuisine. It's packed with succulent ham, melted Swiss cheese, and a zesty Dijon-mayo sauce, all wrapped up in a soft, warm tortilla. This comforting dish is perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner. Enjoy it with a side of spicy salsa or a dollop of sour cream to elevate the experience.

Ingredients

Salt and Pepper
to taste
Red Onion
1 medium, thinly sliced
Tomato
1 medium, diced
Lettuce
1 cup, shredded
Dijon Mustard
2 tablespoons
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
Swiss Cheese
1 cup, shredded
Ham
1 cup, diced
Flour Tortillas
4

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard to create a flavorful sauce.
  2. Lay out the flour tortillas. Spread the Dijon-mayo sauce evenly on each tortilla, leaving a small edge for folding.
  3. Layer the diced ham, shredded Swiss cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and thinly sliced red onion on top of the sauce on each tortilla.
  4. Season the fillings with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Fold in the sides of the tortillas and roll them up tightly to form burritos. Make sure to keep the fillings secure inside.
  6. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  7. Place the burritos in the skillet, seam-side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove the burritos from the skillet and let them cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the cheese to set.
  9. Slice the burritos in half diagonally and serve warm. Enjoy with a side of salsa or sour cream, if desired.

Tips

  • 💡 For a gluten-free option, replace the flour tortillas with gluten-free ones. Variations can include adding jalapenos for an extra kick, or substituting the ham with chicken or turkey for a different flavor profile.
