Spicy Harissa Tahini Sauce
This vibrant and creamy Spicy Harissa Tahini Sauce combines the nutty richness of tahini with the fiery kick of harissa, a North African chili paste. It’s a versatile sauce that elevates any dish, whether drizzled over roasted vegetables, used as a zesty dressing for salads, or served as a bold dipping sauce. Bursting with flavor and a hint of garlic, it's a must-have for any spice lover!
Ingredients
- Tahini
- 1/2 cup
- Harissa paste
- 2 tablespoons
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Water
- 1/4 cup (adjust as needed)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the tahini, harissa paste, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt.
- Using a whisk, blend the ingredients until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing continuously until you reach your desired consistency – smooth and pourable but still thick enough to cling to your dishes.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if desired.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to a week in an airtight container. Stir well before using.
Tips
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cumin or smoked paprika to the sauce.
- This sauce pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or as a spread in wraps and sandwiches.
- For a milder version, reduce the amount of harissa paste according to your heat preference.
