Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Water
1/2 cup
Honeycrisp apples
4, cored and diced (leave the peels on for more fiber)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced Honeycrisp apples, water, and cinnamon.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft and tender.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow it to cool slightly.
  5. Using an immersion blender or a food processor, blend the apple mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. If you prefer a chunkier applesauce, blend it less.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice, adjusting the amount to your taste.
  7. Serve the applesauce warm or chilled as per your preference. It pairs well with oatmeal, yogurt, or can be enjoyed on its own!
