Indulge in the delightful crunch of homemade ice cream cones! These cones are not only crispy and delicious but also incredibly easy to make. This nostalgic treat, which became popular in the early 1900s, adds a personal touch to your ice cream experience. With a few simple ingredients, you can create perfectly shaped cones that will elevate your dessert game and impress your family and friends. Let's bring that nostalgia into your kitchen and create a timeless dessert staple!

Servings: 12 cones

Ingredients

All-purpose flour
1 cup
Granulated sugar
1/4 cup
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
1/2 cup, whole or 2%
Unsalted butter
4 tablespoons, melted
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until you have a smooth batter without lumps.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  5. Using a spoon or a small ice cream cone mold, drop about 2 tablespoons of batter onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread the batter into a thin circle, approximately 4 inches in diameter. Leave enough space between each circle.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the cones cool for a few seconds until they are firm enough to handle.
  8. Working quickly, use a spatula to lift each cookie and roll it around a cone-shaped mold or a clean, empty glass to shape it into a cone. Hold it in place for a few seconds until it sets.
  9. Allow the cones to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
  10. Fill your homemade ice cream cones with your favorite ice cream flavors and enjoy!
