Ingredients

Original recipe serves 2-4

Frozen bananas
4, peeled and sliced
Almond milk
1/2 cup (adjust for desired creaminess)
Protein powder
1 scoop (your choice of flavor)
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Optional toppings
Berries (e.g., strawberries, blueberries)
1/2 cup, for topping
Nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts)
1/4 cup, chopped, for topping
Chocolate chips
1/4 cup, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the frozen bananas and place them in a blender.
  2. Add the protein powder, almond milk, and vanilla extract to the blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary. If the mixture is too thick, add more almond milk a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Once blended, taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired by adding more vanilla extract or a touch of sweetener if needed.
  5. Serve the protein ice cream immediately for a soft-serve texture, or transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for an hour for a firmer consistency.
  6. Top with your favorite toppings such as berries, chopped nuts, and chocolate chips before serving.

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, try using chocolate or peanut butter protein powder.
  • 💡 Feel free to experiment with other frozen fruits like mango or strawberries for different flavor profiles.
  • 💡 This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for up to a week, but for the best texture, consume it within a few days.
