Indulge in the sweet nostalgia of summer with our Homemade Strawberry Jam. Bursting with the taste of fresh, ripe strawberries and a hint of tangy lemon, this jam is perfect for spreading on warm toast, swirling into your morning yogurt or adding a dollop on top of vanilla ice cream. It's a delightful treat that brings the sunshine of summer to your table, no matter the season.
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries
- 4 cups, hulled and halved
- Granulated sugar
- 2 cups
- Fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup
Instructions
- In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, add the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Increase the heat to high, bringing the mixture to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent any sticking or burning.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer. Continue to stir occasionally for about 20-30 minutes, or until the jam has thickened to your liking.
- Remove the pot from heat and allow the jam to cool for about 5-10 minutes.
- Carefully transfer the jam into clean jars. Allow it to cool to room temperature before sealing the jars.
- Once sealed, store the jam in the refrigerator. It can be kept for up to 2 weeks.
Tips
- For a smoother jam, you can mash the strawberries before cooking.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your strawberries and your preference.
- Try adding a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract for a different flavor twist.
