Ingredients
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, freshly ground
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey
- 2 tablespoons
- Unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons
- Potatoes
- 2 large, preferable russet potatoes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Using a mandolin or sharp knife, slice them into thin, even-sized chips.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Be sure to cover the bowl with a microwave-safe cover to prevent any splattering.
- Once the butter is melted, stir in the honey, salt, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined.
- Place the sliced potato chips in a large bowl. Pour the honey butter mixture over the chips. Using a spatula or your hands, gently toss until the chips are evenly coated.
- Spread the coated chips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Try to avoid any overlap to ensure even baking.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and crispy. Watch them closely as they can quickly turn from golden to burnt.
- Remove the chips from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving. This will help them crisp up even more.
- Serve your delightful homemade Honey Butter Chips as a snack or appetizer. Enjoy!
Tips
- For an extra kick, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the honey butter mixture.
- For a vegan version, replace the honey with maple syrup and the butter with a plant-based butter substitute.
