Honeydew Italian Cream Soda

Savor the decadent taste of summer with this Honeydew Italian Cream Soda. This effervescent delight pairs the sweetness of fresh honeydew melon with the bubbly zest of sparkling water. Topped with a velvety splash of heavy cream, it's a refreshing and sophisticated twist on the classic Italian soda. Originating in Italy, these sodas were traditionally made with carbonated water and a variety of fruit syrups. Our version brings the sunny flavors of honeydew to center stage.

Serves 1

Ingredients

Heavy cream
a splash, or to taste
Sparkling water
to fill the glass
Water
1/2 cup
Sugar
1/2 cup
Honeydew melon
1 cup, cubed

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the cubed honeydew melon, sugar, and water. Blend until you have a smooth mixture.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl. Apply pressure to the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining solids.
  3. Pour the resulting honeydew syrup into a glass, filling it about one-third of the way.
  4. Add sparkling water to the glass, leaving a small amount of space at the top for the cream.
  5. Gently stir in a splash of heavy cream to create a beautiful marbled effect.
  6. Serve your Honeydew Italian Cream Soda immediately, garnished with a slice of honeydew melon for an added touch of elegance. Enjoy the creamy, fruity, and fizzy delight!

  • 💡 Try this recipe with other melons like cantaloupe or watermelon for a variation on the flavor.
  • 💡 For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with a splash of coconut milk.
