The dish comes alive with a symphony of textures from crisp vegetables and tender fish, all brought together with a robust sesame-soy dressing. The beauty of this traditional dish lies not only in its taste but also in its presentation, with a gorgeous array of colors and ingredients that truly make it a feast for the senses.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Fresh fish fillets (salmon, tuna, or any sashimi-grade fish)
200 grams, thinly sliced
Sushi rice
2 cups, cooked
Lettuce
1 cup, shredded
Carrot
1, julienned
Cucumber
1, julienned
Red chili pepper
1, finely chopped
Green onions
2, thinly sliced
Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon, toasted
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions and let it cool.
  2. While the rice is cooling, prepare your vegetables and fish. Thinly slice the fish fillets and julienne the cucumber and carrot. Shred the lettuce and set aside.
  3. Prepare the dressing by combining the sesame oil, soy sauce, chopped red chili pepper, sliced green onions, and toasted sesame seeds in a small bowl. Stir well to combine.
  4. To assemble the Hwae Dupbap, start by placing the cooked sushi rice in a serving bowl.
  5. Arrange the sliced fish, cucumber, carrot, and shredded lettuce attractively on top of the rice.
  6. Drizzle the sesame-soy dressing over the top of the dish, making sure to distribute it evenly.
  7. Serve the Hwae Dupbap immediately. Before eating, mix everything together to ensure a perfect balance of flavors in every bite.
