Its cool, refreshing taste complements the heat of curries and biryanis, providing a balance of flavors that is central to Indian cuisine. Ingredients

Plain Yogurt
1 cup
Cucumber
1/2, grated
Tomato
1, finely chopped
Red onion
1/4, finely chopped
Fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Mint leaves
2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the yogurt until it is smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the finely chopped cucumber, tomato, and red onion to the yogurt.
  3. Add the chopped fresh cilantro and mint leaves.
  4. Sprinkle in the cumin powder, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Mix all the ingredients well until everything is thoroughly combined and coated with yogurt.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
