Instructions
- Begin by boiling 4 cups of water in a kettle or pot until it reaches a rolling boil.
- While the water is boiling, place 4 Irish breakfast tea bags in a teapot or heatproof pitcher.
- Once the water has boiled, carefully pour it over the tea bags in the teapot.
- Allow the tea to steep for 4-5 minutes. For a stronger flavor, steep a bit longer, but be cautious, as over-steeping can introduce bitterness.
- After steeping, remove the tea bags and discard them.
- Add sugar to taste, stirring until fully dissolved.
- Pour in the milk and stir well. Adjust the amount of milk to your preference; some enjoy a lighter tea, while others prefer it creamier.
- Serve hot, and enjoy the rich, hearty flavor of your traditional Irish tea.
Tips
- For an added depth of flavor, try using loose leaf Irish breakfast tea instead of tea bags. Use about 1 tablespoon of loose tea per cup of water and strain before serving.
- Experiment with different sweeteners like honey or brown sugar for a unique twist.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the tea while steeping for a comforting spiced flavor.
