Our Israeli Fig Flat White is a symphony of indulgent flavors, combining the richness of espresso with the sweet, earthy tones of fig. Inspired by the coffee culture of Israel, this beverage is a delightful twist on the classic flat white. The added sprinkling of ground cardamom and cinnamon infuses an exotic warmth, transporting you to the vibrant cafes of Tel Aviv with every sip.

Servings: 1

Ingredients

Dried fig
1, thinly sliced for garnish
Honey
1 tablespoon
Ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
1 cup
Fig syrup
2 tablespoons
Espresso
1 shot

Instructions

  1. Brew a shot of espresso using your preferred method and set it aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat your choice of milk over medium heat. Be careful not to bring it to a boil, it should be hot to the touch but not scalding.
  3. Add the fig syrup, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, and honey into the heated milk. Whisk the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully combined and the milk takes on a light brown color.
  4. Froth the milk using a milk frother or a whisk until it becomes creamy and foamy. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour the frothed milk into a large cup, leaving some room at the top for the espresso.
  6. Slowly pour the brewed espresso into the cup, allowing it to delicately blend with the frothed milk. The espresso should form a dark layer atop the milk.
  7. Garnish your Israeli Fig Flat White with thinly sliced dried figs.
  8. Enjoy your drink hot for the best taste experience.
