Instructions
- Brew a shot of espresso using your preferred method and set it aside.
- In a small saucepan, heat your choice of milk over medium heat. Be careful not to bring it to a boil, it should be hot to the touch but not scalding.
- Add the fig syrup, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, and honey into the heated milk. Whisk the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully combined and the milk takes on a light brown color.
- Froth the milk using a milk frother or a whisk until it becomes creamy and foamy. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the frothed milk into a large cup, leaving some room at the top for the espresso.
- Slowly pour the brewed espresso into the cup, allowing it to delicately blend with the frothed milk. The espresso should form a dark layer atop the milk.
- Garnish your Israeli Fig Flat White with thinly sliced dried figs.
- Enjoy your drink hot for the best taste experience.
Tips
- You can experiment with different types of milk like almond, soy, or oat for varied flavors.
- If you don't have fig syrup, you can make your own by simmering 1 cup of chopped dried figs with 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar until it becomes syrupy.
