Ingredients

Water
1 cup
Ground Turkish coffee
2 tablespoons
Sugar
1-2 tablespoons (to taste)
Cardamom
1/4 teaspoon
Ice cubes
as needed
Milk (optional)
splash (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine the ground Turkish coffee, water, sugar, and cardamom.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
  3. Once it boils, remove from heat and let it sit for a minute to allow the coffee grounds to settle at the bottom.
  4. Carefully pour the coffee mixture into a coffee pot or cup, leaving the settled grounds behind.
  5. Fill two glasses with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the hot coffee over the ice cubes, filling the glasses about 3/4 full.
  7. If desired, add a splash of milk to each glass and stir gently for a creamier texture.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste of Istanbul!
