Instructions
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This step helps to remove the excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming sticky.
- In a large saucepan, melt the ghee or butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the cumin seeds.
- Cook the cumin seeds until they start to sizzle and release a fragrant aroma. This process of toasting the cumin seeds enriches the flavor of the rice.
