1 sheet, thawed
Prune jam
1/2 cup
Powdered sugar
for dusting
Egg
1, beaten (for egg wash)
Flour
for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth it out and slightly enlarge it.
  3. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares (approximately 4x4 inches).
  4. Make diagonal cuts from each corner of the square towards the center, leaving a small uncut square in the middle (about 2 inches across).
  5. Place about a teaspoon of prune jam in the center of each square, making sure not to overfill.
  6. Fold every other corner of the pastry towards the center, pressing lightly to seal and forming a star shape.
  7. Transfer the shaped pastries to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg to achieve a golden finish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting generously with powdered sugar and serving.
