Joulutorttu - Finnish Christmas Star Pastries

- 1 sheet, thawed Puff pastry
- 1/2 cup Prune jam
- for dusting Powdered sugar
- 1, beaten (for egg wash) Egg
- for dusting Flour

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth it out and slightly enlarge it.
- Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares (approximately 4x4 inches).
- Make diagonal cuts from each corner of the square towards the center, leaving a small uncut square in the middle (about 2 inches across).
- Place about a teaspoon of prune jam in the center of each square, making sure not to overfill.
- Fold every other corner of the pastry towards the center, pressing lightly to seal and forming a star shape.
- Transfer the shaped pastries to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg to achieve a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting generously with powdered sugar and serving.
