Karisik Izgara (Mixed Grill)
Karisik Izgara, or Mixed Grill, is a beloved dish in Turkish cuisine that showcases the rich flavors of various marinated meats grilled to perfection. Ingredients
- 2 cups, chopped Mixed vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, and eggplant)
- 1 cup Long-grain rice
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- 4 tablespoons, divided Olive oil
- 200 grams, sliced Turkish sausage (sucuk)
- 400 grams, marinated Beef skewers (kebabs)
- 400 grams, boneless and skinless Chicken thighs
- 400 grams Lamb chops
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 2 tablespoons, chopped Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the chicken thighs, lamb chops, and beef skewers in a large bowl and pour the marinade over them. Toss to coat well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the meats are marinating, prepare the mixed vegetables. Toss them with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Once the grill is hot, place the marinated meats on the grill. Cook the lamb chops and chicken thighs for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks. Cook the beef skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning as needed.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, add the sliced Turkish sausage to the grill. Cook until browned and slightly crispy.
- While the meats are grilling, cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- Steam or sauté the mixed vegetables until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- To serve, arrange the grilled meats on a large platter alongside a mound of rice and a colorful array of mixed vegetables. Garnish with fresh parsley.
