Kaurapuuro: Traditional Finnish Oatmeal Porridge

- 1 cup Rolled oats
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Milk

- 1/4 cup Chopped nuts or seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon, or to taste Cinnamon or cardamom

Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add 1 cup of rolled oats and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer the oats for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they have absorbed most of the water and reached a creamy consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in 1 cup of milk. Sweeten your porridge with 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup, or adjust to your taste.
- Divide the Kaurapuuro into serving bowls. Top each bowl with your choice of berries or sliced fruits, chopped nuts or seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or cardamom.
