Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ground pork
1 pound
Onion
1 medium, diced
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Fresh ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Cabbage
4 cups, shredded
Carrots
2 medium, grated
Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
1/4 cup
Sesame oil
2 tablespoons
Green onions
2, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground pork and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Next, add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage and grated carrots. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is wilted and tender.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and remaining sesame oil. Pour this mixture over the pork and vegetable mixture, stirring well to ensure everything is coated in the savory sauce.
  5. Allow to cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through and meld the flavors.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
