Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Nori (seaweed)
2 sheets, cut into thin strips
Green onions
2, finely sliced
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Mirin
3 tablespoons
Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
Fried tofu (aburaage)
2 pieces
Dashi broth
4 cups
Udon noodles
4 servings

Instructions

  1. Cook the udon noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the dashi broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring this mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. While the broth is heating, cut the fried tofu into thin strips.
  4. Add the tofu strips to the simmering broth, allowing them to cook for 5 minutes to absorb the rich flavors.
  5. Divide the cooked udon noodles among four bowls.
  6. Ladle the hot broth and tofu over the noodles in each bowl.
  7. Garnish each serving with the finely sliced green onions and strips of nori.
  8. Serve your Kitsune Udon hot, and savor the harmonious blend of tastes and textures.

Tips
