Ingredients

Original recipe serves 2

Ice cubes
1 cup
Honey
1 tablespoon (optional)
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Water
1 cup
Kale
1 cup, chopped
Kiwi
2, peeled and chopped

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the fruits. Peel the kiwi and chop it into small pieces. Wash the kale thoroughly and chop the leaves roughly.
  2. In a high-powered blender, combine the chopped kiwi, kale leaves, water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and honey (if you prefer a touch of sweetness).
  3. Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and well-combined. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add in the ice cubes and blend again until the juice is chilled and frothy. This step not only cools the juice, but also gives it a refreshing, slushy texture.
  5. Pour the juice into glasses and serve immediately for the best flavor and nutritional benefits. Garnish with a slice of kiwi or a sprig of mint if desired.

Tips

  • 💡 For extra creaminess, add half an avocado or a banana to the blender.
  • 💡 You can substitute spinach, chard, or any other leafy green for the kale.
  • 💡 If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice. However, fresh lemons give the juice a brighter, more refreshing flavor.
