Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, grated pear, chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator, or for best results, overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it's well-oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the beef reaches your desired level of doneness, ensuring to turn them occasionally for even grilling.
  6. Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
  7. Serve the Korean BBQ beef skewers with a side of steamed rice and your favorite Korean side dishes, like kimchi or pickled vegetables.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier kick, add a tablespoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste) to the marinade.
  • 💡 Feel free to add vegetables to the skewers, such as bell peppers or zucchini, for a colorful and nutritious addition.
  • 💡 If you don't have a grill, you can also cook these skewers in a grill pan or under the broiler in your oven.
