  • Brown sugar (2 tablespoons (for bbq sauce))
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced (for bbq sauce))
  • Ginger (1 teaspoon, grated (for bbq sauce))
  • Gochujang (2 tablespoons (for bbq sauce))
  • Apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon (for bbq sauce))
  • Beef (1 lb, thinly sliced (for bulgogi))
  • Soy sauce (1/3 cup (for bulgogi))
  • Sugar (2 tablespoons (for bulgogi))
  • Sesame oil (3 tablespoons (for bulgogi))
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced (for bulgogi))
  • Black pepper (1/4 teaspoon (for bulgogi))
  • Pear (1/2, grated (for bulgogi))
  • Onion (1/2, grated (for bulgogi))

Instructions

  1. For the Korean BBQ sauce, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool.
  2. For the bulgogi beef, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, black pepper, grated pear, and grated onion in a bowl. Add the thinly sliced beef and let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results. Cook the marinated beef over medium heat until cooked through and set aside.
  3. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  5. Spread the Korean BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  6. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  7. Top with the cooked bulgogi beef, green onions, and red onion.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. If using a pizza stone, carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated stone. If not, place the pizza on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  11. Remove from the oven and top with the chopped cilantro and sesame seeds.
  12. Slice and serve immediately with a side of fresh cucumber salad or kimchi.
