Bulgogi beef
1 pound, thinly sliced
Green onions
1/4 cup, chopped
Red onion
1/4 cup, thinly sliced
Cilantro
1/4 cup, chopped
Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon, toasted
Soy sauce
1/4 cup (for marinade and sauce)
Brown sugar
2 tablespoons (for marinade and sauce)
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Gochujang
1 tablespoon
Apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon
Sugar
1 tablespoon (for marinade)
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon (for marinade)
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Pear
1/2, grated (for marinade)
Onion
1/2, grated (for marinade)

Instructions

  1. For the Korean BBQ sauce, in a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 1 tablespoon gochujang, and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. For the bulgogi beef marinade, in a bowl, mix together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 grated pear, and 1/2 grated onion. Add the thinly sliced beef and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for the best flavor.
  3. Cook the marinated beef over medium heat in a skillet until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  6. Spread the Korean BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  7. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the cooked bulgogi beef, green onions, and red onion.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  9. Transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place it on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  11. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped cilantro and toasted sesame seeds.
  12. Slice and serve immediately, ideally with a side of fresh cucumber salad or kimchi.
