Korean Spicy Chicken Wings

Ingredients
- Sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Green onions
- 2, chopped for garnish
- Vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, freshly grated
- Garlic
- 3 cloves, minced
- Honey
- 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup
- Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- 3 tablespoons
- Chicken wings
- 2 lbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and vegetable oil. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl. Toss until they are evenly coated with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes for better flavor absorption.
- Arrange the marinated chicken wings on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are spaced out to allow for even cooking.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the wings are crispy and thoroughly cooked.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the garnish. Chop the green onions and toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over low heat until they are golden brown and aromatic.
- Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle the wings with the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy while hot!
Tips
- If you prefer less heat, adjust the amount of gochujang according to your preference.
- For a richer flavor, let the wings marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
