Servings: 4

Ingredients

Pork shoulder
1 pound, thinly sliced
Cooked rice
4 cups, for serving
Green onions
2, chopped (for garnish)
Carrot
1, julienned
Bell pepper
1, sliced (any color)
Onion
1, sliced
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
Fresh ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Honey
2 tablespoons
Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
3 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, gochujang, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Add the sliced pork to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more intense flavor).
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated pork to the skillet.
  4. Cook the pork for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is browned and cooked through. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and julienned carrot. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  6. Return the cooked pork to the skillet and stir to combine with the vegetables, heating everything through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve the spicy pork mixture over a bed of cooked rice, and garnish with chopped green onions.
  8. For an authentic experience, enjoy your Korean Spicy Pork Bowl with a side of kimchi or pickled vegetables.
