All-purpose flour
2 cups
Eggs
2 large
Water
1/2 cup (adjust as necessary)
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
Bacon
4 slices, chopped
Onion
1 medium, chopped
Cabbage
4 cups, shredded
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, and water. Knead until a smooth dough forms, about 5-7 minutes. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin sheet, approximately 1/8 inch thick. Cut the dough into small squares or strips, about 1 inch in size.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta for 3-5 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in the shredded cabbage, cooking until wilted and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and gently toss to combine with the cabbage and bacon mixture.
  9. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together, stirring occasionally.
  10. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs, if desired, and enjoy the comforting flavors of this traditional dish!
