Instructions
- Start by spreading a generous amount of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will create a barrier and prevent the bread from getting soggy.
- On the buttered side of two slices, layer the lettuce, followed by the tomato slices, onion rings, and finally the Lancashire cheese. Make sure to evenly distribute the ingredients for a balanced taste.
- Spread mayonnaise on the buttered side of the remaining two slices of bread. Then place them on top of the cheese, mayonnaise side down.
- Season your sandwich with a pinch of salt and pepper to elevate the flavours.
- Cut the sandwiches diagonally into halves and serve immediately. You can also wrap them in aluminum foil to enjoy later.
Tips
- For a healthier option, you can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or avocado spread.
- For an extra crunch, consider adding cucumber slices or sprouts.
- If you can't find Lancashire cheese, you can replace it with other creamy cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
