1/2 cup
Water
4 cups, divided

for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the lavender flowers, mint leaves, sugar, and 1 cup of water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and let the lavender mint mixture steep for 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
  5. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher, stirring well to combine.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. When ready to serve, add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir again to chill the lemonade.
  8. Pour the lavender mint lemonade into glasses over additional ice, garnishing each glass with lemon slices and mint sprigs.

Tips

  • 💡 For a sparkling version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
  • 💡 Experiment with different herbs such as basil or rosemary for unique flavor profiles.
  • 💡 If using dried lavender, reduce the amount to 1 teaspoon, as the flavor is more concentrated.
