Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water and stir. Bring this mixture to a boil and stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved. This will create a simple syrup.
- Allow the simple syrup to cool down to room temperature. Once cooled, cover it and place it in the refrigerator until it is fully chilled.
- While waiting for your syrup to cool, juice your fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Be sure to strain the juice to remove any seeds or pulp.
- In a large pitcher, combine the chilled simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir until well mixed.
- Serve the lemonade over ice cubes in tall glasses for a refreshing treat. Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice to taste.
Tips
- For a fun twist, you can add fresh berries, mint leaves, or a splash of sparkling water.
- If you prefer a slightly sweeter lemonade, you can increase the amount of simple syrup.
- For a diet-friendly version, consider using a sugar substitute to create the simple syrup.
