Serves 4

Ingredients

Salt
1 teaspoon, or to taste
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
Fresh cilantro
1/4 cup, chopped
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Tequila
1/4 cup
Lime juice
1/4 cup, freshly squeezed
Steak (ribeye or sirloin)
2 pounds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lime juice, tequila, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place the steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag, and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is well coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for the best flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
  4. Remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
  5. Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting the cooking time based on your preferred doneness.
  6. After grilling, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  7. Slice the steaks against the grain and serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra kick, consider adding a teaspoon of chili powder or cayenne pepper to the marinade.
  • 💡 Pair with grilled corn on the cob or a fresh avocado salad for a complete meal.
  • 💡 If you prefer a sweeter marinade, mix in a tablespoon of honey or agave syrup.
